December 07, 2005Great Barrier ReefJust a quick entry. We left Tasmania about two weeks ago, spent a quick couple of days in Sydney visiting friends, and made it up to Cairns, in the north-east corner of Australia. Cairns is a resort town which is mostly a jumping off point for the Great Barrier Reef. So, following the crowds, we jumped, directly onto a 3 days tour of the reef. We went out on a dive boat and ended up doing 2 dives and about 7 snorkles, seeing sea turtles, sharks, cuttlefish, and an enormous amount of other fish & coral in the process. Oh, and I got stung by another jellyfish. It was worth it, though - the reef lives up to its reputation. I can now officially cross one more thing of my "list of things to do in my life". We'll be here for another couple of days before we head back to Sydney. More to come. Posted by aglazer at December 7, 2005 10:23 AM | TrackBackComments
